Yesterday, via Twitter, I found out that I had been nominated for an award and long-listed for a contest. Also, it was my husband’s birthday. Needless to say, it was a special day!

I’m so honoured to announce my nomination for a National Magazine Award in the category of Best New Magazine Writer!

 I’m also thrilled to be long-listed in the House of Anansi Broken Social Scene Contest!

I’ll post updates if I win, but for now I’m just so excited to have my work read and recognized by organizations that I admire!
